Lanolips Rhubarb

by Viviana

My makeup was minimal today so I was looking for something natural to give me some colour when this arrived on my doorstep. I was actually lucky enough to receive a range of balms both tinted and otherwise so you can expect a full review on them at some point but today we’re just talking Rhubarb.

The texture was nothing like I’d expected, I thought it would be thinner and I didn’t really think there would be much colour but it’s quite firm out of the tube and gives more than a hint of pink – I’d go as far as to say it’s the colour in the tube so not your average tinted lip balm. Next surprise was the applicator.. there isn’t one, you have to squeeze it on to your finger and apply it that way – not what I expected but I’m not too fussed. The formula is thicker than vaseline so you don’t need much and it really feels like a lip treat rather than a colour product – it has spf15 so great for the current weather but I can see myself reaching for this more in Winter when my lips are beyond dry and the icy winds attack my face on my walk to work (or not)

All in all I’m really pleased to have tried this, it’s been on my wishlist for a while and I just never got around to buying it but it’s really nice and I’m excited to see how it works over a longer period of time. One thing I do want to note is that the consistency is totally different from Lanolips Lemon-aid, that is very thin and watery so if you’ve tried that and think it wouldn’t translate into a tint you’d be right.. this is a different animal entirely and I’d recommend you give it a go.
